What is ssl?
The full form of ssl proxy is Secure Sockets Layer. The both Transport layer security and secure socket layer are combined called the SSL protocol. It is mainly a cryptographic protocol that enables you to securely connect to the servers. At present, most of the servers use ssl protocol to securely transmit and receive data from both the ends. This ssl protocol has found a widespread protocol in modern networking life. It has found its applications in web browsing, email, faxing via the internet, and VoIP over Internet protocol.
What is ssl proxy?
The proxy servers that incorporate the secure socket layer in their proxy servers are called the ssl proxies. Now a day’s all most all the proxy servers are ssl proxy servers. SSL servers are different from normal proxy servers in the way that there is a special type of data protection layer that protects both the server and the client from the data being theft illegally and being affected by Internet virus and fishing attacks. SSL creates a secure channel between the client and the server, and through the channel data and requests, responses are transmitted.
While establishing an ssl connection, symmetric cryptography is applied to secure the transmitted data. Symmetric cryptography requires keys to be generated. These keys are created completely uniquely and arbitrarily. The base of these keys is created from a shared secret that is to be negotiated at the very start of every session.
